When Sofia came to me for her senior session, she knew one thing right away: she wanted something different. Not just another field or beach session (as much as I love those!) — she wanted a shoot that felt like her. So we packed up and headed into the city for a day I won’t forget anytime soon.
Starting Under the Bridge in Christopher Columbus Park
We kicked things off in Christopher Columbus Park, right in the heart of the North End, and started our shoot tucked under the bridge. There’s something about that mix of city grit and green space that made for the perfect backdrop — architectural lines, soft light filtering through, and Sofia’s personality shining right through it.
From there, we just wandered. Some of my favorite images from the whole session came from simply exploring and finding little pockets of light and interesting corners we stumbled on along the way. We found this pretty rose garden right in the middle of the street – and her dress matched perfectly!
From there we found a large green grassy area where Sofia was able to run, twirl and have some laughs!!
A North End Family Tradition
From the park, we made our way into the North End to meet up with Sofia’s family — and this is where the day turned into something really special. Sofia’s parents own a beautiful Italian restaurant in Nashua, and her dad showed up with a box of fresh cannolis so he could be part of the pictures too! There’s nothing like capturing real family moments — the kind with pastry boxes and genuine laughter — instead of posed, stiff portraits. Sessions like this are exactly why I love what I do. It’s never just about the senior; it’s about the whole story of who they are and where they come from.
Pink Roses at Lynch Park
A few days later, we regrouped at one of my favorite North Shore spots, Lynch Park in Beverly, for round two. Sofia showed up in the most gorgeous pink rose dress, and it was an absolute dream against the greenery at Lynch Park. We got some stunning portraits of Sofia on her own, plus some beautiful shots with her whole family — a perfect way to round out her senior gallery with a totally different vibe from our North End day.
Two Locations, One Incredible Senior Year Memory
