Erin’s mom and I go way back — we graduated high school together — so getting to photograph her daughter’s senior session wasn’t just work, it was personal. Watching Erin step into this milestone, knowing her mom the way I do, made the whole day feel a little more full-circle.
Where We Started: A Flower Field in North Reading
We kicked things off at Ipswich River Park in North Reading, right in the middle of a gorgeous flower field. Golden light, soft blooms, and Erin easing into the camera — it was the perfect warm-up before we hit the road for our second location.

Onto Plum Island: Grassy Fields and Purple Blooms
From there, we headed out to Plum Island, one of my favorite North Shore spots for its wide-open, wild beauty. We started in the grassy fields, letting Erin’s personality shine against that natural, breezy backdrop.
Then we found them — a patch of beautiful purple wildflowers, blooming right as if they knew Erin was coming. Her dress was the exact same shade of purple, and honestly, it was one of those unplanned moments that felt like it was meant to be. Some of my favorite images from the entire session came from just a few minutes in that spot.

Ending on the Water: Golden Hour on Plum Island
We closed out the session near the water as the sun started to set. There’s something about that last light on Plum Island — the colors stretching across the sky, the water catching every bit of gold — that makes for the kind of images seniors (and their moms) treasure for years.

A Full-Circle Kind of Session
Sessions like Erin’s are exactly why I love this work. It’s never just about the photos — it’s about the connections, the history, and getting to be part of a family’s story in a whole new way. Erin, thank you for trusting me with this milestone. You were an absolute natural, and I can’t wait for you and your mom to see the final gallery.
